Capel Sound was Rosebud West until 2016, and the rename has helped it step out of Rosebud's shadow. It runs along the bay between Rosebud and Tootgarook, with the foreshore reserve and camping grounds on the beach side of Point Nepean Road and the Rosebud Country Club golf course behind.
This is the cheapest beachside postcode on Port Phillip, and that has drawn builders and young families. Expect older brick units and fibro houses mixed with brand-new townhouse pairs. The Rosebud Plaza and Rosebud Hospital are a few minutes east.
