Living in Hastings

Hastings is the biggest town on the Western Port side and the most affordable full-service town on the Peninsula. High Street has supermarkets, pubs and cafes, the Westernport Marina and Hastings foreshore give it a waterfront, and the train runs to Frankston. Industrial jobs at the BlueScope steelworks and the port have given it a permanent working community.

Housing is mostly post-war brick and weatherboard on standard blocks, with newer estates on the Tyabb side and units near the centre. Rental yields are the strongest on the Peninsula.
