Living in Flinders
Flinders sits on a headland between the Bass Strait ocean beach and the calmer Western Port front beach, with the Flinders Golf Club on the cliffs in between. The village is small and expensive in a quiet way — the Flinders Hotel, the general store, a couple of galleries and a bakery. The pier, the mussel boats and the blowhole walk do the rest.
Housing is a mix of original weatherboard cottages, 1970s brick houses on big blocks and large rural-residential properties on the roads out of town. It is one of the Peninsula's strongest prestige markets outside Portsea and Sorrento, with buyers paying for privacy and the ocean.
